KSD FILES

anybody know of a KSD to .WAV converter?

Is KSD really an audio format?? I searched a bit and to me it seem that ksd is a file format that include presets of synths (or other plugins).

yeah it's a format they use for the yamaha fm8 and I think massive.

you already knew this and ask for a converter???
A file without audio cant be converted to audio (ok thats not always true. But mostly)

well the deal is I got some extra patch's for the FM8 and I want to use them in an external sampler and was hoping somebody knew something, other than what I know about converting these file to the .wav format.

well I guess the only way to use the sounds is to actual load the patch into the FM8 and sample the notes to the hardware-sampler.

it's 13,000 sounds fam,not trying to sample none of that


thanks dab,I did try it but it won't convert that format. I starting to think yamaha might have just made up this format for themselves ? but I gonna keep searching maybe something will pop up.Thanks.

the only program that sample a hardware synth and make sampler library in a automated way i know of

On that same note, you're not going to use all 13,000 sounds.

Sample the ones you like, use it. Your missing the point that even if you do convert all 13,000 sounds, you have to audition the ones you like. That's an extra step. You could audition them via the sampler ins and then sample when you find one you like.

Of course they did. You don't write software or create and instrument and then save everything as wavs. That's like saying a video file should be the same as a text file. Even the MPC uses it's own formats that you cannot just 'convert' to what you want. Also once a wav is recorded, you can't go back and tweak the synth parameters of whatever created it.

Having said all that, that program looks cool.
However, I think it would be a huge waste of time/space to use it on all those sounds. That is assuming it actually works (I kind of doubt that).
