Midi Controller: Behringer BCF or BCR?

Hi,

Am thinking of utilising the multi timbre of the JJOSXL, to control the levels TR707-style. The BCF seems most appropriate since it has the eight sliders, but is anyone currently using this and would rather have more pots (like the BCR) to control effects too? Or does the BCFs eight pots along the top more than adequately cover what I'd need?

Another question which doesn't seem to be listed anywhere, if I have this setup: 'BCR/BCF >> MPC >> Vintage Synth' and I want to control the synth parameters does the MPC allow these to be transmitted fully? Both Midi CCs and sysex strings?? Or would I need to go 'BCR/BCF >> Vintage Synth'?



(Would be nice if I could just buy a USB-Midi interface that powered a Korg NanoKontrol and allowed it to work without a computer.....)

I've been wondering the same thing. I have a BCR and an MPC 1000.

You could ask the Yahoo BCR/BCF forum, maybe they know.

I cannot speak entirely for the new mpcs, but the originals were designed specifically for midi, so unless they really stripped features out, it should be able to do what you want no problem.

You should be able to transmit and record midi control from BCF -> MPC -> Synth. You would need to make sure your bcf is configured to send the right messages, but it sounds like you've got that covered.

The MPC should record and pass SysEx data unless you filter it out. Be careful not to go to crazy with tweakings though as MIDI SysEx buffers fill up a lot quicker than using continuous controller info.
