I see a lot of people selling "HARDWARE ONLY" when it comes to Maschine on eBay, some that just from the descriptions I can tell are MPC heads . I still have my software installed after selling it and it'd be cool to use it as a module or filter like I do Reason and do all my sequencing from my MPC .

Nevermind . I figured it out in about 10 min.s . Just sync it's midi to whatever interface you're using, run your MPC midi out into that . Then when you have Maschine open, right click on the sounds, enable midi and then assign to whatever channel you want .

Dope for people on here who have tried or have Maschine and don't like it's sequencer (although it limits you to 16 sounds) .

You can try to control Maschine's software with a MPC or any pad controller for that matter but you will never come anywhere close to the hands-on mouseless workflow and the total integration between Maschine's software and its dedicated hardware that even allows you to turn off the computer screen.

My SP-606 can run software like ableton and reason, sample anything off the internet, then I can turn off the computer and work on beats standalone. That, my friend is true hardware, Maschine is just a controller with software tethered to a computer, which is not hardware except for the server. Which is hardware, the XBox console or the remote controllers? Controllers are nothing without a server so its not hardware, just an assesory.

If Maschine can do what my 606 can then I'm sold on one.

About this 16 sound limitation, is that like per track or bank..?

What I meant by that was (as far as I know), is that you can only assign 1 sound per midi channel so you're limited to controlling 16 sounds since there's only 16 midi channels .

Yeah, it's not "limited to 16 sounds". LOL

You have 16 pads per group and 8 groups. Each pad can have 4 modules which can include one instrument module such as the built-in sampler or any VST/AU instrument and up to 4 effects modules (built-in or VST/AU plugins). This is all PER PAD.

So for example, you can have 4 plugins per pad and you have 16 pads per group and you have 8 of those groups. Do the math and that's 512 plugins total and 128 sound sources.

Damn . . . emptysea always has to put his cape on and fly in for Maschine (and somehow I knew you'd be the 1st to reply to this w/ some BS) .

I'm just talking about using Maschine w/ your MPC for people who don't have the controller or don't care to use it and stick w/ their MPC as the master .

It's just crazy to use Maschine and not use its dedicated controller. But I realize people do crazy stupid things all the time.
