recording 24bit/48khz > 24bit/96khz

if i have a digital mixer that has a maximum sample rate of 24bit/ 48khz and im recording to a soundcard like the motu 828mk3 that is 24bit/96khz. will i be losing bit depth becuz i havent got a 24bit/96khz digital mixer. for awhile ive been thinkin of going digital and ive been looking at things like the akaidps24 and the soundcraft digital 328xd but the latter only has a sample rate of 24bit/48khz. can sum1 plz help me out.[/img]

...no. that 24 bit your talking about is the resolution(quality) of sound you will be producing. 48-96Khz is the rate at which you sample whatever your sampling.

i wouldn't lose any sleep over it. I have some pretty serious monitors, and i just had my ears checked last week but i can't really hear the difference between 48 and 96Khz.
I listened for almost a day, but only on something like a real pristine womens accapella could i hear the change in samplerate.

yeah, man, don't even trip, if you make music for people to hear, no one
can hear the difference. Also you're not losing bit depth.
