I prefer monitors, but there are times when you simply have to use cans !
Browsing the "cribs" thread, I saw quite a few of you had Sony MDR-V6's (or similar). I got a pair right next to me; they're the first serious pair I got. Bass is **** impressive for headphones, and you can properly mix on them. On the downside, they have poor isolation, and the high end gives me ear fatigue right fast.
I also got Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, which is the yin to the V6's yang. the bass is crap... but no ear fatigue, great isolation. They're what I go with if I'm just listening to music, instead of making it.
Anyone got something that's a compromise between both? Or maybe just a pair they can't live without?
