MIDI Foot Controller

I need to find a good MIDI foot controller that can connect to the MPC to enable me to trigger samples live while I play guitar.

After reading through the forum I see that a controller has to be capable of sending MIDI notes to the MPC and that, unfortunately, most foot controllers tend to send program change data instead.

I see that Roland make some organ style Bass pedals but they are both overly huge and extremely expensive (about £1000). Another recommended make was the Behringer FCB1010 which does send MIDI notes but is also just a little too large for what I need.

Was wondering (hoping!) if anybody else is using any other brands/ models or has a workaround for this problem?

easy, just make your own midi trigger.I suggest you get a kick drum pedal and put it against something like a box with midi trigger on that. Very cheap only a few minutes with a soldering iron. otherwise........
MPC use footswitch but it has no midi, its phono jack. can be set up to trigger pad that say has a midi note assigned but its not midi

Why would you need to trigger the sounds instead of just sequencing them? Is this for live play?

Alesis makes the ConTrolPad....This is obviously not meant to be used as a foot switch but I've seen these and stores and they appear to be very durable...which could work as a floor pad trigger foot switch thingy for you although you probably wouldn't want to trigger it with shoes on. Hope your feet don't stink.

I dont know which MPC you use. But I use a 2000 and, at times, I use a regular sustain pedal to trigger samples while I finger drum. You can assign a foot switch to play the pad with the sample assigned to it.
