Hi,

Apologies if these are somewhat basic questions. I'm new to the MPC and am looking to accomplish the following... is it the right tool for me?

I play in a band. I need to control the MPC without touching it, for the most part, as I will be playing bass at the same time. I have a Behringer FCB-1010 that I've used with Ableton Live in the past for this. I understand that for a lot of MIDI functionality, I'll need JJ OS2XL. The thing is - I don't want to plunk down 100$+ if I don't plan on keeping the MPC.

1) I need to trigger loops will turn ON with a note on message and turn OFF with either another note on or a note off message. The loops need to be indefinitely long (until I turn them off). I know this is really simple - I've looked in trim mode and tried looping through there, but I can't seem to get it to work. Any pointers? I gather I need JJ OS2XL LOOP&HOLD mode for this?

2) I'll need some sort of "kill all" loops trigger on the FCB-1010. Perhaps I can map one of the pedals (CC control) to a master fader using JJ OS2XL?

These are the two most important things. Further down the line I'd like to implement the following:

3) I'd like our drummer to be able to hit a pad (which will go into the other MIDI IN on the MPC) to start a click which will go only to him (I am sure I can use one of the ASSIGNABLE OUTS for this) - and to start a SEQUENCE. Is there any way to trigger a sequence using MIDI? I realize I can change a sequence with a program change... but can I do this all from the FCB (I imagine the MPC will have to be in PLAY mode... so, starting the sequence all from the FCB)

I also would like to avoid changing ANYTHING on the actual MPC during a set. Is this at all possible? If not, what would be a good solution? Basically I'd like to avoid the sequencer as much as possible.
