Video editing software recommendations?

Just wanted to see what you guys would recommend as far as video editing goes. I'm not doing anything super heavy duty just stuff for putting music to skate videos and basic YouTube video, music vlog stuff. I know Gimp is the answer to Photoshop as far as freeware goes but is there anything like Gimp for video. Freeware or non-free ware doesn't matter...I don't do cracks though.. Thanks

I paid $100 for Adobe Premiere yet I still find myself editing exclusively in iMovie09. If you use a Mac you should already have it or it may be a free download. I'm guessin the PC equivalent would be windows movie maker. Also free but I dont know how good it is.

you want some official video editing go for final cut pro, adobe after effects, anything of that caliber

Imovie or any equal if your just playing around and fcp if your going to seriously be editing video/film.
