EPS ram

Probs not the best place to ask but does any one know where you can buy the memory expansion for the Ensoniq EPS-16+ keyboard?

I just got one on ebay and can't wait to get it...

Now that I know I'm not derailing, since you found what you wanted, give it a chance without the extra memory for a while and see how much you can squeeze out of it. I have the most basic mem in my EPS and it really runs out fast if you start sampling phrases, so you get to be real creative with sample rate / tuning, which really helps give it that sound.

Yea man I won't expand it unless I really need to, was just interested how much it would cost... I have a scary fear I will really like it and will slowly take over my Akai's lol

I was borrowing my friends MPC-60 mk1 off my friend for about a month or so, his is just a standard model..no SCSI or extra ram but latest OS... Man I could squeze a lot out of that thing, so rewarding too! Loved working on it and it made me think more about what samples I use and how I use them...
I'm spoilt with my MPC-2000XL and S-3200XL with their 32MB ram

If you want to push it, just chop the sounds ahead of time ab sample from your MPC2000XL to the eps and sample individual hits to it. The mor you practice with the EPS the more you will fall in love with it. Just sequence the sounds with the 2000XL

Aiit, to be honest you could squeeze to much out of the 60's memory even if you were lazy with the sample editing
Like here... The only thing that's not out the 60 is the vocal and synth I played towards the end..

yea, true about the 60. What i tend to do though is chop in battery 3, then sample from soundcard onto the 60. However on battery it gives you the exact sample length so you know whether it's .3 seconds or .4 second sample.

When i first started i would record onto the 60 from turntable to preamp/soundcard and do a 1 second sample and truncate from there. Even with lazy with the sample edition you CAN get stuff done, but you aren't getting the most from your ram. I am on 3.03, what OS are you using to chop on?

It's got the latest 3.10 on the 60 which also has the compression feature (didn't use it on that tune) I chop everything on the MPC...quite like it like that too, found it nicer trimming and what have you than using my XL, it's also a lovely feeling machine to use.

That was the first track I did with the 60, my friend lent it to me for a month whilst he was moving house, I used it before at his place but not really too in depth... Ended up loving working with it, was sad to give it back.
I couldn't have one or the other though... XL still has it's place but it was a nice change to go on the 60 and do more sample type ish which I don't do as often (more of a synth nerd)

Got the EPS16+ and I was thinking, man this thing don't run out of RAM so I opened it up and found it has the RAM expansion lol Great stuff, seller thought it didn't have it. It's a lovely sounding sampler, really easy to use and the mod-matrix+loop manipulation shiz..super!
