Performance Mic

Im looking to invest in a mic for performing. My homie rocks a Neumann KMS 105 and his vocals sound like his cd. Also thinking of getting some ear monitors. Anyone use them before?

I've haven't performed with them but had good results with those in the sound booth...

As for a live mic, I'd have to say sm58...all around workhorse and tough as nails

any mic hooked up to autotune = gold

right on b. Im wanna step it up from the 58. Ive always used that and when I hear dudes rockin high end mics and sounds a world different. Its crazy.

True...with as drunk as the assholes I've played with get, there's no way I'd take a neumann with me though

Oh for sure...but still, I've seen some crazy accidents happen

I used to rock a SM58, it was rugged, fair priced and when used at the right distance from the face, sounded just fine.

Rugged indeed...there are true stories of shit for brains stagehands using them as hammers and they still worked.

Sorry...I'm kinda new to this elite shit...

does it matter if it's a dynamic or condenser mic?... 'cause on the affordable side... maybe a Rode NT1A? just 'cause i'd be sketchy about taking my superior Rode NT1000...
