very Amateur question my home set up is an MPC 4K, ASR-10 and my audio interface is a M-Audio Project Mix I/O Mac Computer. My question is how do i play my MPC/ASR-10 out of my project mix through my speakers (Alesis)?

Im pretty sure i have all the wires set up correctly is there something on the computer or ProMix that i have to touch to hear them? does Pro Tools have to be open?

Im not trying to synch them to pro tools by MIDI to lay anything down. I just want to hear them through my speakers so i can create something to lay down in my DAW? please somebody help ive been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.

if u r gonna route everything thru PT, then PT has to be open and tracks need to be created for each instrument ie MPC & ASR.
those tracks need to be record enabled.
click the red "R" on each track and you should be good

you don't even have to open pro tools to hear the audio streaming through the board...just go to system preferences and then go to the M-audio firewire audio interface under other. then upon opening the application click on inputs and then enable the audio channels to played on output 1-2 or 3-4

so do you have your mpc outs going into the project mix i/o inputs 1-8 if so all u have to do is enable the bottom 1/2 or 3/4 outs of the software and u should be able to hear it ... what ever u have playing could be seen cuz it shows the signal and shit
