Hey there,
I am away from my sweatheart (mpc60) for a while, so i decided to go on with an akai mpk mini keyboard+pad controller.

Now I am searching for ways to produce like on my mpc

the first thing i need is a free (im out of bucks) drummaper + sampler which allows me to map samples to certain pads of the controller and set the function of the pads, like 16 levels pitching or 16 levels velocity or normal function.

the second thing is the sequencer part, now i use cubase sx3 but some things are fukked up and bother me. for example that it takes so long to switch between the quantizing options while programming. the next thing is that I dont know how to work on a sequence like in the MPC, when i recorded two bars and i want to add or take away something i need to glue two midi tracks manually instead of the track staying one track which is the place i program into untill I decide to go further on another one.

when i now try to do things on the computer i realize how good the mpc works as programming device for me!!! on the computer its less about music...

PEACE,
Flo

swami is a pretty good bread and butter sampler, and seq24 is a sequencer inspired by the mpc sequencer.

i personally dont know any other free samplers and im curious as well.
