Hi there,

a stupid question is haunting me since a while...... I intend to buy a new soundcard (like m-audio fast track pro, audiobox presonus...).
My question is how to connect the mpc stereo outputs (left & right) on these interfaces, I mean can we plug both jacks on input 1 & 2 of the interface, will it comes as a stereo track on the DAW or will it be two mono tracks??? Or does the left out of the mpc is balanced, so one input would be enough...
Some interfaces has a stereo/mono switch on inputs but m-audio and presonus hasn't i believe... If someone get my point, please let me know! Cheers

in your daw you'll have an option as to how you want it to come out.

so you can choose, L on one track, R on one track, ie two mono.

or you can record L+R as a stereo track.

a mono switch on input would do L+R but on one mono track.

if you can afford it, go for a good 2 channel over a mediocre 4/8 channel, unless how fast you track out makes a difference. i personally use a sound devices usbpre2 which is 2 channels.

ok, so put L+R (1 & 2 on interface) on one stereo track in the DAW is possible. I feel better now :)
thanks mate!

yup, in daws you can do eg. stereo 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 or mono 1,2,3,4,5,6 tracks which represent the inputs on your card (depending on the amount).

Your DAW can do any of that in any order, no worry. :)
