mpc and fl studio piano roll

im only using the demo of fl studio, but i want to be able to do this with the MPC1000 (JJOS 3.12) and MicroKorg

I want to play my drums and chops in the MPC and record each extra out into FL Studio, so that they will show up in FL Studio's Piano Roll, NOT as waveform. I'd like to be able to see where every hat or snare hits in Piano Roll and fine adjust it. im aware of step edit in the mpc though, but i'd like to use piano roll instead...if this is possible.

I would also like to be able to record my MicroKorg into FL Studio the same way...I want to record a synth line or bass from the mK into Piano Roll, so that I can fine tune and adjust the velocity of each note.

I also am aware that Midi IS NOT audio, but what I want to is basically play 4 notes from my MicroKorg and be able to see each note that I recorded/played show up in Piano Roll, so I can fine tune each note or make each note longer/shorter, louder quieter....and to pretty much just make sure each note hits exactly where i want it to. this goes for the MPC notes as well, (such as where each drum hits, where each hat hits)

yeah so the sounds from the MK and the MPC is not relevant to the piano roll in fl studio as ... midi is not sound like you said.

go into your fl studio midi options.. choose the controller (or midi device) and enable it.

now right click the record button on the top and choose "score" which will record notes into piano roll.. left click the record button to enable it (it turns orange) ..

now with the micro korg connected to the computer via midi and you chose the instrument you wish to create a piano roll for (maybe fl keys for example, or sytrus or something) ..

click play and it will count in, when you push keys it will record them... if you are in pattern mode it will be in the pattern's piano roll.. unless your demo version prohibits that.

1) What if there is a sound built into the MicroKorg that I want to record into piano roll using this method, INSTEAD of using an instrument inside fl studio like FL keys?

2) On the MPC, if I have 3 tracks on my 1st sequence (hats on 1, drums on 2, snares on 3)...how would i get each of them into Piano Roll to fine tune them? Now these are sounds that are ALREADY loaded and recorded onto the MPC that i got off a record, NOT MIDI. So is it even possible to get them into Piano Roll to see each individual drum hit or hat to adjust

well the thing is, piano roll in fl studio is strictly for internal sounds or more accurately... it is simply for midi patterns internally in fl studio.. so you may be able to set up a fruity wrapper that points to a midi out port connected to the korg or mpc but I have not tried that ever..

I suggest doing this:

for the korg, play your melody while recording it (I dont use fl studio for recording external audio... I use audacity which is free to download) next import that wave file into fl studio... and drop it into a wave traveler generator... for the first key place the start point by the first note, then click the next key (in the wave traverler) and place that start point by the second note.. and so on for each note (for each wave traveler key you should flip down the TA switch which is located in the center of the wave traveler window) .. now in piano roll each key you edited will be piano-roll-able ..

for the mpc, get each drum sound into fl studio and build it in fl studio the usual way.
