Selecting a Mic Pre

I am on a hunt to buy a mic pre and I don't know what I'm doing.....lol

I know there might be others like me....so I have found a guide to help me to select Mic Pre

That is my hardest question to answer.......I don't own a $1000 mic as of right now....don't know if I have a budget....but I don't want to spend nothing too crazy

for 50 bucks this wont dissappoint, its not an avalon but I'm suggest low to high, this isn't a cheaply made product

this is what ive used for years and for the price wouldn't trade it in, its a whole channel strip. its 300 new, or guitar center usually has them for about 200 used with a 30 day money back warranty or regret option, so you can buy it take it home if you don't like it take it back and get your money 30 days no questions asked,

I haven't messed any higher end pre's so I can't suggest anything above the 300 dollar mark

Prah for a slightly unique sound you could check out Golden Age Projects' mic pres. They're based on old Neve designs I believe, and people seem to like them quite a lot. They're not a savage price either. I'm waiting for them to release a nice full channel strip and I'll be all over it.

Honestly though mate, check out their products. They've got a comp, and an EQ too. Reasonably priced, and half-sized rack so you can actually mount a stereo pair.

That compressor looks pretty nice.

I know dude, I've been so very tempted of late but I got a bargain Drawmer on ebay a few months back so I've opted not to.

At least not until they do a full channel strip like I said earlier. I was leaning towards the EQ they released until I noticed it can only be used as an insert if you buy the compressor first... so I was like errrr nah you're alright bruv.
