Hey trying to pick something up for my setup, want something nice looking, and functional. What are you all using?

I know that sometimes desks dont fit mpcs that well, MPC60 can push back a bit, ya know?

I was thinking one of those $200 studio RTA desks that guitar center's got. or just sticking to stands...hmm...

Current set up to be furnished: Roland jx10 5 octave keyboard, or is it 5 and ah alf, it's big though, mpc60, mpc500, 3 or 4 rack units, studio monitor, and mixer when it comes

what would you suggest? I'm curious to see what you guys use too.

for reference, you can check out the "pics of your crib" thread to get ideas

but i custom built a table with open shelves on top for my speakers. turntable on the right side and my mpc in front, with my keyboard to the right and sp 303 to the left.

i also built a shelf in the middle that i nailed in between the 2 side shelves, that i put my monitor on....and i've got my rack units sitting under the monitor shelf, for easy access.

This is what I bought, GREAT desk!

Have my 1 rackspace power conditioner and 1 rackspace RME in there. Dual 17inch monitors on top, perfect, what I always wanted.

desktop rackspace  That is if you don't plan on going mobile.

It's the cheaper version of this

I'm curious about this subject as well and that RTA desk (the $200 one) was one that i was considering. But amazon doesn't have any measurement beside the size of the rack bays (19 inches a piece).

yea, i was thinkin bout that one too, an the front desk area fit an mpc 60? I used to have the lima bean shaped one, it was dope, but an mpc nad a tech 12 didn't fit well.

need a fluid work environmental.

I use a computer desk but its classy looking with cherry and glass top. I'm planning to build my own desk too but still planning it on paper. I was thinking of building it after those old pianos you see in western flicks or those vintage 50s stereo cabs. Still taking measurements and stuff because the last design turned out to be too big.

i saw a video of Imogen Heap's studio, and she had a few keyboards, a monitor, and a couple other things sitting inside a piano that had been stripped and she was using it as a "desk"

i think i remember her saying she used it during her live shows. it looked sick

The first pictures isnt mine but the second picture is.
After 6 years, I still use my IKEA Jerker desk in my studio.
IKEA doesn't sell these anymore though people still request these desks.
