asr or mpc2k

Do i want an asr-10 or an mpc 2k (an xl might be outta my price range). The asr is cheaper i think. All i want is some vinyl and a standalone piece of equitment. what would u reccomend

id get the asr10 then get the mpc later,cuz the asr 10 is harder to get u can get an mpc anytime

mpc probably easier right away. But get the 2000xl if you can. and youll appreciate a zip drive, although its not neccesary.

ASR-X Pro. With money left over to buy more equipment or vinyl.

I agree, there are sequencing issues, but you can work around them.

what kind of issuses?
i have seen this peice for cheap and am thinking of picking one up

Sometimes the Sequencer"Hiccups" (Skips a fraction of the beat) It doesn't happen all of the time. If you're coming off an ASR-10, you will be very dissapointed. You can't mute tracks in song mode. Also you can't switch sequences unless you're in pattern mode. These things you can adjust to. The X-pro has one of the best Samplers around. I would say get it, then get an MPC ( i have a 2000 Cassic) It's That Jay-Z - R. Kelly!!! (Best Of Both Worlds) Dope Sampler, Dope Sequencer.

this cat is sellin me an asr 10 with a jaz drive for 600... i already got a 2kxl but wanted to try the combo since im hearing so much good stuff about them working together... what do u guys think.. should i get it??

They also say the X-Pro (Red) is more stable. I never worked with the black.

ASR samplers have really good converters for A/D and D/A and really great filters and effects. The mpc2k filters leave alot to be desired... I work around them but I always wanted an ASR but due to budget constraints I never added one on...
