With all the hype surrounding the MPC Renaissance I guess no one saw the counter for the MPC FLY
Music Production Controller for iPad 2

2 weeks until its unveiled. I guess just in time for Winter Namm 2012.... I'm interested to see this if it will allow me to travel with my mpc 5000 projects. Thoughts?

I think Akai are being shrewd and realise that it's wise to create an ecosystem for their products. More importantly, you get the benefit of working on your projects via your iPad/iPhone as well as the new controllers.

I'm just guessing here obviously, but that's what makes the most sense.

MPC Forums are a finicky bunch. Its hard to pinpoint what people actually want. I am curious to hear what you want in an MPC....

its just going to be like the mpkmini which connects to ipad, midi I/o and maybe audio I/o they won't push the boat out on the fly else no one will buy the other products. nothing much has changed in 10 years its just a sampler.

this is a fact!

for me..

im quite content with my 2k5 / jjos1 combo!

besides usb1 :x
usb2 was def out at the time of release, just to save a few bux, lets just chuck usb1 in the ****.. lmao! i dont really care these days, it just takes a long time to save.

when a project gets over the 1meg mark, it gets slow.. i recently hit the 99 seq mark... i was **** pissed! i had so much more to give....

i can deal with the memory limit of 128mb, more would be nice but you cant win all battles, and 128 is alot when your a crafty!

other than that its just the little things man, im not complaining, just stating facts!

personally, i would like to see the iphone connected or docked to mpc controller, with traditional mpc interface and even traditional OS as the app. instead of built in computer chip let the iphone do everything. of course there are some interface things you could take advantage of with the touch screen, but basically would like it to function like the mpc2500, but with iphone as the brain instead of built in chip.....and the controller wouldnt have to be limited by akai's app.

thirdparty developers could have a stab at developing a nice beat app for the ipad 16pad controller!
