Hi,
I have a 2500, and someone in another thread opened my eyes to the majesty of Direct Recording.
I also have a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI foot controller sitting around doing nothing.
So I'm thinking, wouldn't it be cool if I could use the Behringer to start/stop direct recording? That way I could use the MPC as kind of a looper pedal with my bass (which I'm awesome at, by the way).
I wouldn't need it to do anything fancy, just control the F1-6 buttons for hands-free control of starting/stopping direct recording. No need for it to play pads or control the sequencer.
But I can't find anything in the Akai manual, or the 2500 Tutor book, about how to do this. I'm using JJOS free just now, but JJ gets rid of Direct Recording in all versions. Hands-free looping would be enough to get me to switch back to Akai.
Anyone any ideas?
EDIT: I know the FCB1010 has footswitch outs (the jack kind) which can be set up for pretty much anything. The only thing stopping me going that way is a lack of jack cables and Akai putting the footswitch ins on the front. That's where my (typing) keyboard is
