Gearing up for war!!

Hi,

I am about to splash some cash on new hardware.I want to build myself a clean studio.I am thinking of running protools,for this i don't really know if i should go to mac or stay on windows with a double screen pc(and a firewire port).What kind of interface would you recommend.I was thinking of getting a digi 002 rack;maybe added to that will be a command 8.Don't know if it's a good choice.I know some people around here use protools and i thank you for answering.

Whatever interface gets the job YOU want done. Check specs and do research to figure out what YOU need.

Just get what you want... nobody round here is gonna be able to persuade you better than yourself. Just don't go buyin no M-Box and pro tools le cause you think it's dat real shit.

PT ten allows any interface to be used now. Some may argue with me but I would suggest and stand by the Presonus Fire Studio Project, they cost about $400, give you 8 ins, at 24 bit 96khz, are built pretty sturdy and can be daisy chained later if you need more ins. I would only get PT if you are planning on sending your mixes and tracks to other studios, otherwise I would get Reason 6, it records and tracks audio like a fully functioning DAW, has virtual SSL mixer, endless effect and mastering routing and setups, and is ridiculous when it comes to sound designing. I know a lot ppl who just you Reason alone and make great songs. alright thats my 2 cents.

Thank you all for the advices,i think i will stick to protools.I think that will be my final thought!I have heard that reason is not as good as other softwares when it comes to audio treatment.I have a clean copy of reason 5,it's good,many synth and other effects.But i want a good program to mix my mpc tracks a bit better.

i would go logic over protools, alot cheaper now, and way more customizable.. thats just me though.
