so i was thinkin bout scoopin that goldbaby tape 808 hurd lots of good stuff bout it and i dont have much 808 sounds in the first place .....
but my question is they all come in 24 bit which is awsome but that means to put them in my mpc 2kxl im gunna have to convert them to 16bit ... thats gunna b a process and a half ....
am i correct ?? has any body else done this ?? or is there a quick solution? .... just seems like a lot of wrk to downgrade a good sample in the first place... im willin to do it but was just seein wut other people r thinkin?

It is much easier to decrease sound quality than it is to create sound quality from something that isn't there. You definitely can't make an 8-bit sample sound like it's 24 or 16-bit. The great thing about an 808 is that the sound from it is analog, and 808s sound great when bit-crushed! You shouldn't notice much of a difference in the translation from 24-bit to 16-bit because CD-quality is only 16-bit. But you WILL see a difference if you tried to make a 16-bit sample 12 or 8-bit.
