I've been gone for a while. looked on DSI site and found out they released and already started shipping a Polyphonic 4 voice Mopho Keyboard named the Mopho x4... no one posted on this yet?

interesting that they wouldn't just call it the TETRA like they did the 4 voice desktop version...

Yeah i know.... I actually remember reading on their fb page last year that they were dead set against a tetra keyboard because of costs. they actually said something like. once and for all its not happening.

maybe they were able to source parts for cheaper. but yeah this is actually a tetra keys or mini prophet. i'd love to have one to polychain to my mopho desktop for 5 voice analog ness

I finally got my hands on a MoPho to mess around with after having an Evolver since they were first released. I think I like this latest generation DSI stuff even more (less digital processing overhead and a much faster, newer digital buss really helps).

The one thing I miss is a real hardware envelope and/or mod buss. This is the one thing DSI hasn't given us yet. Course that kind of thing doesn't come cheap.or easy in a hybrid synth. Look at the SunSyn.

Seems like the MiniBrute might have an analog hardware ENV but I haven't been able to tell for sure....

According to their FB or their site its shipping already on the day they announced 08/01/2012. whether or not your retailer of choice has it is another deal.

I assumed that as meaning that they're shipping it out to retailers from the factory since it's not currently available direct through their own online store. Sweetwater said earlier (before I posted) within a few weeks, more or less. Let us know if you talk to someone and they say different though as what I got was one person's estimate.

i agree... shipping to retailers but it aint on the streets yet.

Let me just say though I am developing a love/hate relationship with the analog synth resurgence. Love it because its so dope to see manufacturers realizing this is what we want but Hate it because I cant possibly afford it all and if i could i couldn't possibly sneak it all into the crib past the wife.

Those tiny up and down arrow buttons look fragile. Do they use those on their other gear?

They remind me of the beat select (or whatever they are called) buttons on the Pioneer DJM mixers. They always break!

look the same as the mopho desktop that I have. I've never given it much thought. i guess they are fine. although I use the phatty much more than the mopho. mostly because its like a poly synth stuck a mono synths body. I always wanted it to be polyphonic. it sounds incredible though... but yeah those buttons are small but they arent fragile imo

To my understanding even though the signal path is 100% analog the rest of the synth is not as the envolpes and mod matrix are still digital. It does have a much faster digital buss than previous synths that have worked this way, one of the more recent being the Alesis Andromeda.
