i have a 2k xl and motif es and i do all my seq. on the mpc, because everything is really lay out for you better on the mpc, while the motif has alot of menus that can go from point a to b and mayber x,y,z. You dont have to worry about on the mpc cause every things is pretty much a "Shift + #" or a "Open window button" away.

I agree, but sometimes i just want to be able to create music on the motif and dont have to turn on 5 modules which sounds dont even sound better then the motif...I keep th emotif in my bedroom so i dont even have to go to my studio..What i do want to do though is with all the songs that I already built of my mpc, planet phatt, jv 1080..Play them again but this time see if I can get better sounds from the motif.. Thats going to be incredible..i actually just got my motif last week so im still experimenting

Dont cop out dog. The motif es is well worth the money and wait. To me the biggest down fall on the motif classic is the lack of insert effects. The motif classic only has 1 insert effect in seq mode so that means every other sound you use will be strip of its effects. So if you created a sound to sound a type of way then it wont in seq mode unless you make sure it uses the insert effect. The motif es has 8 insert effects in seq, and hands down no keyboard has that. Pluse the motif es has 185 mb of sounds compare to the motif classics 85mb. On the sampel side the motif es can have up to gig of ram compare to the motif classic 64 mb. I would get a motif rack before a motif classic keyboard. You can do some work with the motif classic but i think its a overall better keyboard for performing than using in seq mode. One thing i notice was on the motif classic is that all the demo songs only use one track to show case the motif classic ....why? well because the motif wouldnt sound right any other way....while the motif es demo songs use more than one sound.

With a motif es youll have pretty much top of the line real instrument sounding sounds. Later just get the nord lead to get better electronic sounds...but dont front witht he effects the motif es you can get some hot sounds...i guest yamaha wasnt diggin to deep into the machine when they was programing it but they did a great job on the real sounds. I made a pack with my girl and thats the fact if i cant do it with motif es and nord lead and mpc...then i cant do it with nothing else so as of right now i will never sale the motif es to buy another keyboard to replace it. To me this keyboard will take me 3 to 5 years to really push it to the limits and beyond.
