i got an m audio revolution and the line input is **** up so i just ran my mixer out line into the mic input of the revolution, i know normally u dont do this cuz the mic in has an amplifier but i hear no difference in sound ,should i be straight ,im recording beats from an mpc and vocals

no1 can tell me if recording a line livel thru a mic in is bad?

but in the sound settings in windows (I assume youre on a PC, if youre on a MAc, I cant help), there is a feature under the advanced tab that says "amplify microphone".

Make sure that tab is NOT checked, and then the mike input is identical to a line level input.

I have a laptop with both line in and mike in, I sampled the same thing twice, and they sound identical. I even changed to mono, and lined them up in CEP, they even look identical.

I think the only problem you MIGHT have is that mike input is mono by default, but Im not sure.

NAH IT SOUNDS EXACTLY THE SAME FOR ME TOO,YEAH I NEVER HAVE THE MIC BOOST ON IN WINDOWS,THNX BRO
