Help with new setup (wiring)..

"MY SETUP"
I have logic pro 6.
Akai mpc 1000
Motu 828mk2.
Roland xv 5080
m-Audio Evolution mk461c
Shure mic (ksm27).

My question is basically how do i hook all these up to all work together.i know the....
motu -->cpu (via firewire).
mic-->motu
keyboard-->cpu (via usp)
midi from keyboard-->xv5080 and out.
how do i hook up the mpc so when i hit the pads it will come thru the speakers that are going to be hooked up to the 828?,just use the midi in the back of the motu?Or does the xv5080 have to go to the motu if so will i have to get a midi man?

If someone could help me out or even tell me how to do it and how many midi cables i will need and if i will need a midi man i would GREATLY appreciate it cause i want to get started on makin some music...

(i know having this equiptment i should atleast know how to hook it up, but i don't and im not scared to ask dumb questions cause thats how i will learn)---THANKS I REALLY DO APPRECIATE ANY HELP.

I will be buying my midi cables and midi man off ebay (if needed midi man)..Is there anything i should be aware of when buying midi cables?just thought i'd ask..-Thanks again-JOEY

I'm gonna assume you plan to sequence on the MPC.

First, everything that puts out an audio signal goes to the MOTU. MPC audio out(s/pdif or analog, midi does not output sound!!!)>MOTU audio in/ Roland audio out>MOTU audio in/ Shure KSM27>MOTU XLR input.

461 midi out> MPC midi in 1(or 2)/MPC midi out A(or B)>Roland midi in.

If you want to set Logic as the master then MOTU midi out> MPC midi in(which ever one is free)/if you want the MPC to be the master then MPC midi out>MOTU midi in.

This is how I would set everything up, this should get you headed in the right direction but you've got a lot of work ahead of you, I would sugget reading ALL the manuals and I would also suggest some trial and error, I've owned gear that only worked for me if I set it up differently than the manual suggested. I would also take notes on what works and what doesn't if you decide on the trial and error method.
