When I first got my mp I used to resample all of my kicks to get a more lo-fi sound out of them, but for some reason or another I stopped doing that a while ago. A few weeks back I put together a new program with lots of kicks and decided to try and resample some of them to get some nice, muffled kicks, but when I do it the sound just doesn't seem to come out right..
Instead of sounding warmer and darker, there's a horrible, kind of high pitched crackling effect in the kick that I never had before. I've tried about half a dozen different kicks, but it's the same thing everytime!
I resample to 12 bit, about 22000- 27000 hz, the same as before. Could it be that I've recorded the sounds too loud to my mp? Or could it be that some sounds just sound that way when resampled? Because some of the kicks are monstrous, in size and sound!
I mean I get by just fine without resampling them, I just thought if ya'll have had any similar problems?
