My father in-law is giving me a airstream excella for my studio space. Anyone else here done it themselves? I'm most excited about the light I will have in there. Im producing in a cave at the moment.

Looks like a lot of space. Wood the inside out and build a nice modern studio with a retro look.

Im just gonna have it real simple, desk for my MPC 2000 and shelves for these damn records. My house has been taken over by them. So im gonna set it up real nice in there.

Im gonna have to engineer the sound a bit differently in there. Not sure what it will sound like though.

Like you and Lamp, I did too- I know what an airstream is but had to look up the model.

It's a 31 footer?

No real advice, except you need to lock up the trailer hitch damn good- that would be a huge kick in the gut to find out that someone rolled off with your airstream with all your records and gear in it. :(

Do it vice versa: live in the excella and use the house as a studio :)

Yeah its 31 feet. I have a enclosed back yard, with view of it from my window.

Ive got a lot of work to do on it, but i would like to start doing most of my work in there.
At the moment my studio is a small side room of my house, its nice, but i miss the sunlight and like i said before, the records have taken over.

If any of you guys roll through Tucson, come check the new pad when it finished.

Right on...if you can, take some progress pics and post 'em up- I think all of us agree that we'd like to see this process in action. :)
