I bought a new DR 660 when they first came out years ago.
As a guitar player,it now sat for most of the time in the box as programming
usable beats was too much like a second job.
Now with the computer age, decided to get a midi interface in hopes I can
download midi files of actual songs and insert them into the dr 660 for playback.
My question is this.
Is it possible to achieve this?
After a massive internet search and hours of winging setups,I am having no luck at all.
Hoping someone owns or owned this unit and can guide me to some answers.
Any help would be appreciated.

it would likely take a lot of editing of the midi file - a midi file could have any number of instrument tracks, but im pretty sure the 660 is very limited in this regard.

so a lot of the channels would need to be moved around.

id put the most faith in a good reproduction of the drum track from the midi file (usually channel 10) playing on the 660.

it should work if you can import a midi file to your dr 660.

your going to have to find out which drum hit is wich midi note and assign each instrument to the right midi note accordingly though.

its not so hard to do something like this on a daw or mpc even, but i dont know how it works on a dr660 really.

good luck.
