KRK Speaker (Possible) Issue/Question

Hey,

Been lurking on the site for a while learning things but now I have a question.

I purchased KRK monitor speakers a few weeks ago, and in the process of getting them from the store to my studio one of the speakers was knocked slightly.

One of the convex plastic centers in the low end speaker is pushed in slightly (not all the way inverted).

I haven't noticed anything horrible about the sound coming out of the speaker but I'm curious as to if that will affect anything and if I should be taking the front face-plate off and trying to get it popped back into it's original shape (if that's even possible).

If the sound should be fine, I don't want to bother making things worse.

ship them back and request replacement...you cant pop it back out from the inside. since you said it's the low end-mids speaker I'd crank up the bass and try to pop it out by applying high volume/bass levels

I dont think it will affect the sound much if at all. You could use a vacuum cleaner nozzle (on low power) to pull the cone back out into its intended shape. Returning the speakers is not an option, as you are responsible for the damage.

What i used to do is get a carton roll (like from the toilet paper or kitchen paper)....place it on the cone....and then gently use your lungs to get it back into shape (no...i won't say "suck it back into shape"....oops... )

Had to do it several times as my youngest one thought it was funny to push it in....

I am afraid that if you use a vcuum cleaner that you do not have any control on the suction power....and this could really damage your monitor.

Btw....sound never changed...
