I was thinking of buying an emu sampler...but don't have much ideas on them.....is the esi32 or any good ..or would it be better to buy a more modern one..like the E5000 ultra?

I have an E 64 ( half a E IV 64 mo / 63 polyph ) that i bought for 200 $ , all the old ones before the ultras are super cheap now ( i started with samplers 7 years ago and i can tell you these s## were expensive back then ) . The main differences are options on the newest ones ( ultra , E 5000 ) plus a new chip ( way faster ) and fx . Take one running the eos , so you can update to the versions with all the crazy filters ( not an esi )

DEFINATELY GET THE ULTRA CAUSE IT'S GOT THE EOS ENGINE WITH SYNTH BASED MODULATION.... YOUR SAMPLE CAN ACT AS THE WAVEFORM AND YOU CAN SERIOUSLY TWIST YOUR SOUND,... THE
FILTERS ARE SUPERB (IN MY OPINION BETTER THAN AKAI) AND YOU
CAN GET AN R-FX CARD WITH SOME USEFUL PLUG-INS....

i HAVE THE 6400 AND THE SAMPLING ENGINE IS GREAT AND SOUNDS
EXTREMELY RICH
