What's good y'all...not too long ago I had to sell my motif xs8 88key cause I needed some quick cash. Now I'm interested in gettin the motif xf6( the newer version). From what I know it has a larger sound bank than the previous one, but I'm not sure if I should just get instead a 88 keyboard(weighted keys) with a bunch of new synths to play with..just wanna know y'all opinion on the matter with some insight on the beat synth's to get that out there... Thanks

If you can afford an XF then you should get it. I just got a motif ES rack (I can afford an XF but decided against it) because it sounds warmer to me than the XS and the XF. They do not have an XF rack yet to my knowledge. The XS and the MOX6 have the same sounds. The XF has lots of new tech in it which makes it faster, and whatnot, plus it has lots of arpeggios and sounds.
I did a lot of research before I bought the old ES. Frankly I do not want another keyboard so getting an XF keyboard would have been overkill. I did go to Guitar center and try it anyway. I am a fan of Yamaha sounds, the keyboards tend to sound better than Roland and the XF is no different. Roland is good for ease of use and many sounds. Korg seems to have the wildest sounds and yamaha is great for bass and pianos and real instrument sounds. That's my opinion.
You can't go wrong with an XF.

Cheers,
Ian

PS I have one weighted key keyboard and one that is not so that I can have fast action when needed. versatility

I checked out the XF myself and from what I saw everything was about the same. I even looked up the instruments by their assigned number and everything was in the same spot. lol Even the patterns and songs. I would say get a used XS and save yourself some money.

Dropped $2500 on es7 when they came out. If had to do it again I'd pick up nice 88weighted key controller couple sound modules and few vsts like komplete 8
