Whattup fam,
Got a small problem and I just can't figure it out what it is. I know the solution is probably very simple, but because I've a few things linked up I kinda lost track a bit and don't know where the problem might be.
Ok, this is the case. Working on the mpc 2500 with JJOS1 and the Reason 4 combo, where Reason works as my soundmodule.
Have everything set up as usual. Different instruments sequenced in different tracks on the Mpc, all the instruments assigned to the correct midi channel corresponding with the midi channel assigned in my mpc.
Midi channel 1: percussion
Midi channel 2: Combinator with choir patch and stuff
Midi channel 3: Combinator with Wobble bass 1
Midi channel 4: Malstrom with scream for Wobble bass 2
So I sequenced my stuff, a few percussion hits and the start of the bassline using the two wobble bass. What I want to do now is assigning the q-links to the knobs on the wobble bass instruments to control the LFO rate. I was able to accomplish this by first assigning the Mpc as the master keyboard in order to be able to use the Mpc's q-link for remote control. And here is where I get lost.
I am able to assign the q links to the synths, reason recognises the Mpc's q-links, with the correct settings (midi control, assign a CC number to the q-link), and the knob I want to control is moving when I twist the q-link knob on my Mpc.
Everything seems to be cool. But, for some reason the Malstrom on channel 4 is being triggered by the data in midi channel 1. It's playing exactly the same pattern. And yes, I am in the right track on the Mpc, and the midi channel on both devices are set correctly. When I go to the track in my sequencer in which I have sequenced my percussion and I play some keys or pads I hear my wobble bass on channel 4 together with my percussion sounds and vice versa.
Weird thing is that when I disconnect my Mpc as the master keyboard (but still connected as sequencer) everything seems to be cool again. But then again, I can't use the q-links to control the rotary's on the Reason synths. I know I've done something wrong, but I don't know what. I went through these steps over and over again trying to find the cause of this problem without any result. Hopefully one of you guys here can help me out.
