Audio Interfaces and Gain Controls

Hi,

I am looking for a new audio interface but a lot of them have gain controls. My question is if these gain controls (left at 0) will cause an issue with recording my MPC 2000?

I currently own a Mix 882 i/o interface and am not used to having the gain controls. I just run everything directly in.

You talking about white air leaking in the mix from the Mic gain? No, that will not happen even if left at hard right. Only if the mic is connected, then the gain will issue slight feedback.

So lets say for instance the Digi 003 +. It has gains for pretty much every input. Youre saying if a XLR is not plugged in, that the gain will not be activated?

Yeah it won't bother you. Also, you can configure the interface to read the inputs you want heard within your DAW.
