MPC2500, Digi003, Pro Tools, and Komplete......[SOLVED]

I'm a newbie with this 003 coming from the Mbox 2. The MPC is the master. When I was using the Mbox I could call up a synth in Komplete via PT as the host and sequence everything in the MPC rather than sequence in PT. For some reason now, I can't hear the metronome from the MPC when playing the keys of an Komplete instrument. I can hear the sound coming from Komplete and it's being recorded by the MPC but no metronome!! Do I need to change a setting in the 003, Pro Tools, or MPC? This is frustrating...tempted to hook up the Mbox and call it a day.

From this and your other thread it sounds like maybe you need to check how you've got the output from the MPC hooked into the 003. . . .

I have 8 outs from the MPC going into the 8 ins on the 003. The monitors are going into the monitor L and R on the 003...

I don't think you'll hear any of the audio from inside the MPC unless you specifically route it to one of the 8 outputs. I believe the default behavior of an MPC is to send audio through the Main Outs. I'm not sure you can reassign the click track.

You need to somehow also get the main output of the MPC into the back of the 003. Looking at a picture of the back of the 003 it should have enough other inputs to do so (like the digital out of the MPC to the digital in on the 003 or plug MPC main outs into the aux ins on the 003)

Hopefully you have the manuals for both units

that's what I was thinking but I did what you said and still no metronome...that's strange. I'm ok with using 6 outs, it's better than 2. I just wish using 6 would work.

ok, figured it out for real this time. I had to change how I had cables going into the "ins". The "stereo outs" from the MP had to be going in the DI's which is channels 1-4. it was in the manual too...
