I have now got a firewire to usb converter, do you think my laptop will still recognise this?

Does anyone else on here use an external soundcard and a firewire to usb converter?

chances are that your laptop probably has a 4-pin 1394 port for firewire that you weren't aware was for that... most of them do... it's a tiny-ass port which most people overlook which is good for firewire interfaces as long as you get a cable like this...
