My studio is never in stasis, so I just thought to show how I stash things on industrial shelving for easy access. The last time I pulled together a hardware session I had the Force, the NDLR, the Engine and various ancillary bits on the floor, then tidied everything away when I'd finished.

This is my current situation. When it comes to do mixdowns, I put my laptop on the free space up right and plug it to the Presonus Studiolive ar16c and record the tracks via USB. On the far right, I set another laptop when I record my cuts and scratches using Serato and Phase. Plus a Roland JV 1080 is missing in the pic. The workhorse for basics.
Yeah, plenty of dust. I live in a dusty environment. I know it looks as if I don't touch things for weeks, but I go over everything with a duster and/or vacuum cleaner pretty regularly.
On the other hand if you look at the Blofeld in the picture you can see when my hand bushed away the dust - that was from using it the same day when I took the picture. Let that be your standard of comparison.

Kind of settling into this setup. Been working to get down to 1 desk for a while... so lots of stuff came out and put up for sale. The nice side effect is that I can focus on what I really need for cables now and get more streamlined for managing all the audio/midi connections.
