midi out from the ea-1 to the midi input of the 1000
midi output from the mpc to the input of the ea-1
on the korg, you push the global button and go down to clock, and make it external
then on the korg you go to midi ch and chose 1 (or what ever number) and in the mpc, make sure it is set to the same channel.
on the main screen (on most mpcs.. it may differ on your model or OS) you should be able to change a track to deal with a piece of hardware connected to a particular midi port. this needs to be done as well.
I suggest you record sequences by using the ea-1's keyboard keys... and the mpc's sequencer will replay the thing you did. I also suggest selecting additional tracks to record knobs tweaks... which also can be recorded with the mpc. For example, you can turn the filter cutoff rapidly or to do sweeps and it will replay the sweep.. but do those on their own tracks so if you need to redo it you wont screw up the notes.
