mixer question.

I need a mixer that has 8 channels in and 8 channels out.
Does anyone know any mixers like this for a decent price.

In terms of brand, go with a Mackie. I love my 1202VLZ. MACK'S r built tuff and durable. The truly stand the test of time

most mixers that are even semi-professional have a "direct out" on the back of each channel, so theoretically any mixer with more tehan 8 channels would have at least 8 outs.

Only downside is that, if I'm not mistaken, the direct out is a dry out, meaning any EQ on that channel is disregarded.

This means you gotta track dry, and either EQ before you sample, and/or do your mix EQing inside your recording medium.

Don't quote me on any of this except the "direct out" part, I have yet to see a multi-track mixer without direct outs on each channel.

surely that's what the busses are for. If yo ureally gotta have the EQ on when you record, send to a bus and then to your recorder, a longer signal path, but yuo got the eq you recorded.

agree with the mackie statement - I'm looking at the onyx boards atm they look the business. don't buy a behringer.

but that only applies to a board with 8 busses. Not all of them have 8 (mine has 4)

So yeah....

Find one with 8 busses, dude.
