MPC and a virtual sounds rack

Hi,
I have an MPC2500 with JJOS 128XL and the fat screen. I have been using instruments on there along with drum programs but find that, in record mode, instrument programs cancel out (like, multi-timbral failure) making it infuriating to try to use MPC by itself with a keyboard, I've tried, have some good sounds and failed.

I have ableton live on my PC and invested in a USB midi controller to allow IN/OUT from MPC and can play sounds from Ableton if I assign a midi channel to eack track holding a sound and the essential SHIFT and hit record mode on every track of Ableton to allow all sounds to be accessed from the MPC - obviously, only 16 channels worth.

I haven't found a mode in Ableton to allow me to just load up a load of sounds into a rack, assign midi channels and use them from the MPC easily. I guess I want something like Reason but, without the problem of not being able to load VST sounds and restricted to Propellarheads only.

Does anyone know of a configuration or dedicated software which just allows me to create my own virtual VST racks of sounds and assign them to mixing channels, have effects and up to 16 channels?

Then there's the other problem, sounds are late even though I have ASIO sound card making pretty annoying (sometimes weirdly funky) to use.

Any ideas? So to recap, I want an easy to use PC software to rack up some VST sounds and access from the MPC. Thanks for your help, thoughts, solution

Thanks for the advice, I will give that a go, I had used it as a VST plugin to Cubase years ago but never did use the actual application, had forgotten all about it. I take it that it can load up most VST instruments into a rack and have midi assigned to it for use with MPC? (rhetorical question I guess, I'm sure the answer is yes)

I'll reply again once I know more about how to get the best use of it with MPC. Then I guess, it's a case of working out how to go from that to recording the output of my mixer to Ableton Live as a mixdown, that'll be fun

Well yes and no. They do have to be the in the Kontakt format, NKI. I believe. You can find free stuff all over the web or you can create your own instruments with the multisamples you already have.

As far as MIDI with the MPC it does work very well, you can run Kontakt standalone like a virtual rack synth. As long as you have a USB to MIDI adapter your good to go. I have worked like this before and resample from my macbook back into the MPC.
