Audio interface noise

I just got a new audio interface(Lexicon Alpha). It works fine when i listen to music, watch videos... but everytime i start Reaper or any other DAW, there is a high pitch noise. And it's even worse when i start recording, the noise is awful. I tried a lot of things, change the drivers, cables, use another DAW, another usb port,put a noise gate when recording, nothing works. Anyone had a similar problem and knows how to fix this? Thanks!

Do you have any other equipment connected to interface or computer?

i am always going to suggest ungrounding your computer to see if that fixes it, but i would not consider that a permanent solution.

I have all my equipment connected to my mixer, the outs of the mixer go to the interface ins, and the interface outs go to the mixer ins, i don't know if it might be a problem. It seems that this noise is a pretty common issue with this interface.

When I read "high pitched noise"
it makes me think of the interface have a problem with HDD, fan or graphic card.
Just a thought because I know a "high pitched noise" from my PC too (sometimes) and I seem to be an issue with thee UBS using the same IRQ than the graphic card. Its very quiet but if I turn up the volume on my speakers, start the AudioEditor (Audition) and hit the play button (with no audio loaded) its there Its not there when I hit stop. But then it is there when I move the mouse and also when the HDD save or load something.
I havn't really found the aswer why its there sometimes and sometimes not.

Try other power socket for computer, I mean not the cable, but other power outlet. I think it supposed to be in the same outlet as mixer, or even all equipment from the same outlet. Look on internet about "grounding loop".

Thanks for all the answers, i tried my interface on another computer and with another power socket, and i still have the same problem...
A lot of people seem to have this issue with interfaces that are powered via usb, which is the case of my interface.

try ungrounding it - if yer computer is running on 3 prongs then convert it to 2 just to check. then you'll know if its a ground loop and can try to fix with some more insight.

i had this problem when i used an interface that had to be plugged into the wall, and a computer as well. if i unplugged one of them, the noise would go away.

How would you do that? Do i need a converter or something?

Are you getting this noise without nothing connected to interface except headphones? Just a computer and interface?

it is cheap, and like i said, is not a permanent solution, but it is a cheap way to test if it is a ground loop.

it might not work - but it is a cheap thing to try and could come in handy later.

i had this problem in some clubs i played at and i always carry one of these with me now.

yeah, beside what Tapedeck told you I would try to troubleshoot from here connecting the gear 1 by 1 and checking when it appears. I had this @@@@ with FinalScratch interface, which was powered from outlet + whole turtable setup and a laptop cable with two prongs (originally). This noise only gone away when I unplug the lappy from outlet, or if I connected it to the same outlet where turntable setup was connected.
