Recording scratches

Ok i have been troubled by audacity recently. I have my beat recorded and all I want to do is add scratches on separate track. However, I witness a delay when recording into audacity, is there any way I can get it in real time.. Btw my setup is MPC 2000 /S950/Yamaha mg 124/audacity & akai 4000ds réel to reel

Can U nudge the scratches to where they were suppose to be?

I still use audacity at times but never experienced a delay, even back when I used substandard computer

if you can route it so you can monitor the pre-recorded sound coming out of audacity, and your scratches at the same time, do that.

mess with the hardware / software monitoring options in the recording tab of audacity preferences.

it sounds like you are monitoring the signal after it's recorded, but you really don't want to monitor the stuff being recorded, you want to monitor pre-recorded track and then your scratching before it hits the computer.

See if you can choose a lower audio buffer size in your audio interface preferences/settings/control panel.

Yes, it might help if you can monitor the scratches directly from the mixer, before it gets into the computer, and mute the track you are recording onto in Audacity, so you are not listening to both the direct (from the mixer input) signal and the recorded (delayed through the computer) signal at the same time.
