To piggy-back off a thread I seen on the front page of the internet that stated that Rage Against The Machine's debut album is one of the best mixed albums of all time and can be used to test high-end sound systems... I'm curious???

What songs do YOU use to "test" your monitors for reference...?

There are a few I use off hand that are an odd mix of tracks but in MY experience if they sound good on your system, you can mix GOLD!!!

1. Prince - The Beautiful Ones (actually the whole damn album)

2. Zapp & Roger - Computer Love

3. Usher, Jay-Z - Hot Toddie (Dat synth-bass!)

I use Bob Marley and the Wailers "Legend". I know those songs so well because I have listened to them all for years in so many different places. When I bought my behringer monitors I used this album to get my ears adjusted.

Cheers,
Ian

Prince and Roger are fine choices too.

Funny you should say that... Aja by Steely Dan ended up very high on the list.
