NEED ADVICE ON SOME MONITORS!!!PLEASE HELP ME

Im in the market for some monitors and im looking at Event 20/20s...alesis mkIIs...and m-audio bx5s...anybody can recommend these or others?i need nice MID LEVEL(price/sound)monitors that give a clear flat sound so i can monitor my mixes accurately...basically i want exceptional ones that will give me the least color and truest flatest sound cuz id hate to get a pair thatll sound nice when i mix then sound horrible and uneven when i burn it to CD...

AS ALWAYS ANY AND ALL FEEDBACK WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Of the ones you mentioned, I can vouch for the 20/20s. The MKIIs are also very good from what I hear. I'd def get either of those over the BX5s.
Could also look at the Event TR8s, Tannoy Reveal Actives, maybe even the KRK V6.

They must be the passive version, right? There are passive and active models of the 20/20s and the Alesis MKIIs, but I think the BX5s are only active... so I just figured you were wanting active monitors. But yeah, if they ARE the active ones and they're in good condition, then the price is almost too good to be true...

im pretty sure the events are passive..is 150 still good?

I got the alesis but I havent really used anything else so I cant compare..They sound phatt to me.

I guess... if they're in pretty good condition... I'd say you could probably find them cheaper, though. Might be worth checking ebay and seeing what they're going for. So you have an amp to use?

yes i got a real strong amp so powerful my bookshelf speakers wont play when i plug em in2 it lol...i think it goes up to 700W if im not mistaken i g2 check...could i use one of those recievers that come w an internal amp or is it recommended i get a dedicated amp?

Out of the one's you mentioned I'd go with the Events over the others... and if you can get active speakers... preferably bi-amp'd... that way the amps are matched to the speakers and you'll get a better sound... sorry if you already know this stuff... also the KRK's are really nice.

i just found a used pair of event 20?20s V2 for 200!!!are those the best choice out of all the ones i mentioned or should i just go w the maudios alesis or newer events?

ideally newer is always better, but if the one's you found are in good shape and @ a good price go for it... IMHO the best of those you mentioned.

go to turntablelab.com they have the event 20/ 20 monitors passive for a pretty good price and also look around for a good amp like a NAD or comporable brand... honestly tho i would recomend springing for actives just cuz there is one less thing to **** up on ya (amp) and one less thing to color the sound even iof it is just a bit... i know buying used monitors is really iffy but see if you can find anyone in your local area that is selling some mackies or even genelecs and see if you can score yourself a good deal... but be sure to TRY THEM FIRST!!! a used pair of mackies, in good condition that is, are better than new 20/20's or any other mid range monitors you can throw at em... hope this helped.

I would suggest getting active(powered ) monitors instead of passive, because different amps make monitors sound slightly different, but anyway I have heard alot of good reviews about the 20\20 bas v2, they have alot of power ( 150watts for the woofer, 75 watts for the tweeter) right now all I have is the roland ds90's and they only have 50watts for the woofer and 30watts for the tweeter but they kick enough, but just today I have just ordered the event ASP8 monitors they sound real good but cost a grip. peace
