Ayo!

My lil' rig is allllllllmost complete! The only thing I'm missing is the ability to quickly & creatively merge the acoustic realm with the electronic. I understand that my trusty sampler can get this done, but that usually requires interrupting the flow to set up the audio tracks, etc.

What I'm really wanting is a bad a$$ looping pedal/station that can sync to MIDI clock sent from my MPC. There are several loopers that offer this, but an extra bonus feature would be automatic timestretching.

The OctaTrack is amazing in this sense but I'm trying to NOT buy my third (at this point in time). It takes quite a bit of set up to get it to work as a dedicated looper AND I'd have to buy a dedicated MIDI foot controller to get things to flow properly. That's around $1,000 for the OctaTrack + another $150 for something like the Behringer FCB1010.... no thanks! (though I DO realize that the Octa would be adding MUCH MORE than "just sweet looping" to my rig, it is a magical box truly)

My aim here is to have 100% freedom in creating my sequences & loops independent of the tempo. Say I create an eight-bar beat at 160-BPM in the MPC and play a lil' flute riff into my looper. Okay, sweet. NOW - I'd like to take the BPM down a bit. Is there a looper out there that would keep my eight-bar flute riff in tact as I lower the BPM?

LOOPERS OF INTEREST IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:
- Boss RC-300
- EHX 48,000
- Boss RC-505

I've had my eye on the EHX for a long time now, it interface is quite sexy to me! I dig having fader control over each loop's volume + panning + the bounce track make it look sexy! Then again, the effects of the Boss units are also alluring...

Ultimately, a looper with auto-timestretch will win but that might just be a pipe-dream.

Any words of advice here? This is a seriously important part of my "dream rig", so important that I haven't made the jump.... in two years.

Peace!
