Mpd16 with laptop?

Hello all. This is kinda OT. I'm using the MPD16 controller with my laptop and I'm getting much too much latency (BTW I've already adjusted the preferences in Battery to their lowest latency but still to unusable results.) I've been living in MAC/Protools land for many years but wanted a PC setup to use ACID with. I'm pretty rusty on how to optmise a Windows PC for music apps. Any tips? Thanks...


MPD16 USB'd to Compaq ARMADA M700 laptop(850PIII,127Ram) to ACID 4.0 sequencer to trigger Battery 1.0 VSTi.[/color]

Well, I got some advice. DON'T USE ACID!!!! if u have win. XP, then u should take acid back, get about 600 more bucks, and pickup cubase sx. i use my mpc to trigger battery in the cubase enviornment and its flawless. if u get cubase ill send u my settings.
