I ordered a Fantom X to use with the 4000, is anyone using one?

Thanks

Yes, I want to make the beats on the 4k, then arrange it to sync to the Fantom. I like the Appeggator and the effects in the fantm, but it can't mees with tthe 4ks drums.

with the 4000? thats one serious setup. one of my friends just got the X and it really is an all in one workstation, except for no cd burner. the color display is bananas. so is this skip back sampling feature - which allows you to playback the last thing you were playing on the keys, pads, or a source outside the X. I cant imagine what it will be like with the 4000.

that fantom sounds good. I may cop a rack later on. The sounds are great and the sampling features are off the hook. Between that and the 4000 your set.

I had the X for a minute, everything about that board is hot, my only complaints were that it only has 3 insert fx and the sample file structure is f*ckin' retarded(you'll see what I mean), I'm sure you'll love it though.

After a long weekend and a few days I come to relize the Fantom X seq is wack. I can get around the board pretty good, the sounds and the effects are hot, but it can come close to the MPC seq. Dont know if Im gonna keep this board. I may have to send it back before the 45 days run out.
The Sampler on it is hot, I think its better then the 4k when it comes to sampling, the auto-chop is the bomb. Dont like the pads much. DOn't know if I need this in my studio.
We will see.

This is the reason i keep telling people the motif es is the best keyboard out once you learn how to really using. No dis to to the fantom and your post but the first fantom only had 3 insert effects and now still only have 3 insert effects. The same with triton and its 5 insert effects. The motif started off with just one in the motif classic and step it up ot 4 on the motif rack and now has 8 on the motif es. I only use maybe 4 or 5 tracks from the motif es. Now all i need to learn how to do is tweak them envelops and im good for 5 years or more. Too much power under the hood.

Dude, the Fantom X is a hot board ONLY IF YOU NEED ROLAND SOUNDS!! But can't hold a Candle to the Motif ES!! If you have to do a Fantom, I'd get the X-Rack instead! It would have been cheaper, but a Motif ES puts you squarely in the Game for REAL!!! I got one!!!!

If the Motif ES is soo much better then the Fantom(and Triton) then why isn't "everyone" running to the stores to get 1. ??? BANN ME NOW but I am a Triton user since it came out. I saw the Motif come and then the ES version and had a chance to get it but opted again to just upgrade my triton to the Studio model. Its really a preference thing and thats all. BTW When Yamaha comes out with the ES rack, I'll be the first to pick it up....but I'll be picking up the "XR" rack also.......

Why so many rompers. It just seems as if you would have a lot of the same thing.

I'll probably just be doing a sound comparison...I love the Triton's interface though.
