sequencer options

hey all.

looking at selling my mpc, but after ideas for a good sequencer for my s900
(i know right, asking for a good sequencer then saying im selling my MPC)
preferably a cheap one. Looked at the MMT-8 and the ASQ-10 both look solid.

The HR-16 looks super cool, but not sure if i cant trigger external with it?
having the extra drum sounds would be cool.

I have a midi keyboard i can control it with, just after a change i guess, the mpc is boring me now and i want to learn something new again.

Any suggestions welcome.

I've been keeping an eye peeled for a cheap boss dr rhythm as an alternate sequencer. I think these are the only ones that have potential as MIDI sequencers:

can anyone confirm or deny that the Alesis HR-16 can sequence and trigger external modules / samplers?

Keep the MPC you've got or switch to another MPC with a more advanced sequencer and sound engine. Everything else is just a backwards step IMO.

Cheers Coz, i was having the exact conversation with my friend today, i had REALLY overlooked how much i have come to rely on the sequencer in the MPC and the flexibility of programming.

I just want a "loungeroom" toy for lack of a better term.

I believe DJ Premier used the Alesis HR-16/S900 combo in the beginning.
