Yamaha studio monitors making noise

My HS7's are making hiss and low buzz. The monitors are hooked to a Yamaha MG102c mixer. Even though I shut down all the other devices except the monitors, they're still generating noise. Turning the gain down either on the monitors or the mixer doesn't work, the noise remains constant.

I'm using 1/4" cables and I need to get really close to hear the noise.

what kind of noise?

are you using 1/4 mono or 1/4 stereo cables?

I guess it's white noise hiss from the tweeter and low frequence buzz from the bass element.

I believe they're stereo cables.

if you turn off all other stuff in the room, does it still make noise? like, maybe it's some feedback thing happening? try and find that out to see if it's coming from the speaker itself or something else in the room.

Yup, like I stated in the OP, the noise is still there even though I turn off all the other devices.

so then try plugging it in on another plug.... just to be sure one last time... and then look into getting the monitor repaired.

Shit, I just got them. But I guess it has to be done.

I have Yamaha MSP7's and you can hear noise coming from them when no audio is playing, but it's normal behaviour. It's just the noise-floor of the active monitors themselves.
I don't have any buzz or hum though. That would be cause for concern.

I have a dimmer switch in the kitchen which is two floors below me. As soon as that goes on, my mixing desk starting buzzing. Right PITA those dimmer switches. Doesn't affect my monitors though.

How close is your modem to your monitors or monitor cables. That was my issue. Once I moved my wireless modem...the noise went away.

Almost right under the monitors one floor down.

There's actually a dimmer switch in the house, have to investigate.

What's weird is that even though I have every other device turned off/unplugged, the stereo cable plugged off from the monitors they still keep humming and buzzing.

is it both monitors or one ? power supply may be going bad
