Traktor Scratch midi sync with MPC 1000 JJOS3XLCD

Hi, it's probably a long shot but I'm wondering if anyone has managed to sync Traktor Scratches midi to be either master or slave with the mpc1000 (or any mpc I suppose).

It should be straight forward and I've followed the online tutorial down to every step but still no luck.

I'm using a mac book pro, audio 8 dj, traktor scratch pro, mpc 1000 with the xlcd and a couple of midi cables of course.

Here is the online tutorial. It would be amazing if anyone has figured this out, I think it would be pretty handy for a few things.
