I had one of these years ago. It is fine for composing on the road. Complicated sequencing and horrible sounds but you could work with it on the top of a mountain and dump it into something else when you return to civilization.

that unsophiscated huh.. I hope the sounds are ugly in a beautiful way. I think i'll take it with me to uni and write track between classes, then dump the midi in the 4K when I get home.

I've got one. The sounds are.. well.. very very bad. But the portability is a plus.

It can pretty fun. The 8 tracks of the sequencer can be muted and unmuted like the MPC which always makes it loads of fun.
I beleive Novation got started making a small contoller designed for the QY-10 called the MM-10. The QY could be placed in a small recess above the 2 octave keyboard and even be powered from the MM-10 batteries.

The drum sounds are not that bad. The thing even has a kind of 808 kick sound on board. The chord function is real fun.

there are a few of them out, the su10, the qy10 and a few others i have seen with xg sound sets. the xg ones are pretty cool. the sounds are pure cheese, but sound better than creative soundcard midi. i had alot of fun programming on the road/train. but shit i cando i can bangh out like 5 seconds quicker on the padmaster2000
